Why Sniffing Out The Bullsh*t exists

Hello, hello, and welcome to the new podcast, Sniffing Out The Bullshit. So I'm Sabrina Chevannes-Denman, and this is my new podcast, which means I do already have a podcast out, but it's a little bit different. That is a video podcast, and every week, I get a new guest to come on to talk, shop with me about what they do as an entrepreneur, but it's also on a very similar theme. It's called No Bullsh*t Talks. So you can kind of understand the common denominator between these podcasts, but the other one was giving me a bit of anxiety to organize. We did the first season on Zoom. It was super easy in that sense. It did really well, so I thought, let's step up the game. But to do that, I needed to get so much video equipment, which I did. I spent several thousand pounds on all the gear, but still had no idea. And I was stressing about the video angles, the nighting and all that kind of stuff, finding a good place to record it with good acoustics, like a nice backdrop. And then obviously getting guests in every week to try and organize and schedule and things not going right. And so I got a little bit stressed, and I missed creating content, and I missed getting podcasts out there. So I decided, let's do a new one. Let's do a solo one, make the episode shorter, snappier, and it's all about sniffing out the bullshit. And I'm gonna tell you a bit more about that in a minute, but let me tell you a little bit about myself in case there are some of you listening who don't know me already, who've just stumbled upon this podcast, but haven't seen the other one. But I run a creative agency called Complex Creative, and our tagline is the No Bullshit Agency. So once again, there is that line. But that's how we started. I started off years and years ago in the industry, and the company that I founded back in 2013, we were so generic, we just couldn't stand out. And so that's why we rebranded in 2019 and kind of hit the reset button. And the reason the tagline came to us is because so many clients came to us having been ripped off by other agencies. And they just came to us for consultations. They were like, God, you just have no bullshit. You're straight to the point, straight talking. We know what we're gonna get with you. And I'm like, yeah, exactly.

From the No Bullsh*t Agency to the podcast

So that's how we became the No Bullshit Agency. So, I've been kind of doing this for a long time now. And the agency is just over three years old under this new brand. And everyone knows us as the straight talking agency in the industry, people who actually tell the truth. So our No Bullshit brand has kind of been known in the circles. And so I ended up doing the other podcast, which is called No Bullsh*t Talks. And now people have been saying, God, you are always calling people out on their bullshit. And I'm like, yeah, I totally am because someone needs to do it because there are so many scams out there. So that's kind of why I created this podcast. It's all about sniffing out the bullshit. So what does that mean? It means that, God, there's so much bullshit online. And I don't just mean on social media, but dropping into your inboxes, just day-to-day life, there are just scams and just crap everywhere. And so I wanted to make sure that there was a source of information where it pulled up all the people that talk crap and just expose it for what it really is. And it's not really a dirty tenor. This is not the point of the podcast. It's actually to help people. So in my industry, in marketing and all that sort of stuff, it's actually really wrong when brands lie to their customers straight out, but that's what it is. And I guess there's a fine line between marketing and lying. And I made to call people out on that line. And I see things every day, and social media is full of supposed experts. And I'm just here to highlight them, who are real, who are not, because people are getting scammed every single day for their hard-earned cash. And I'm releasing this now in the middle of a serious cost of living crisis. Everyone is freaking out about money. So why have I decided to create this podcast? Well, to protect you guys. To anytime I see some sort of bullshit, I'm going to call it out. I'm going to do an episode on it. And I'm going to highlight some of the people who do this every single day, and let you know that you should avoid them. And so I'm going to be covering things like social media scams, obviously, even things in employment. I've seen job adverts are phony, or candidates trying to scam companies now. There's a ton of stuff on the way. There are fake companies who are setting up jobs, and they don't even exist, which is absolutely insane. There's a fudged figures when it comes to company accounts. It's like a Netflix documentary in the making, really.

What the show will sniff out

And there's people who are running dropshipping companies, who are not even sending goods or sending fake goods. It's just absolutely crazy. So I'm gonna be covering a whole host of nutty topics. And I'm gonna be making, I'm gonna be taking in suggestions too, because I wanna hear what you guys want me to focus on. There's a lot of crap out there, and I will be doing some research. So if I hear any tips be dropped in my inbox about some of the shit that they've seen out there, then I wanna know about it. I will research it, and I will do an episode on it. So I guess to all the people who are listening, thank you for tuning in. This is just the first intro episode to let you know what it's about. So you can have a quick listen to this and see if this is the sort of right podcast for you. But if you're the sort of person who gets offended easily or doesn't like the occasional swear word, as you've heard in this, I mean, you could probably guess from the title that it's not going to be the cleanest of episodes, then it's probably not the right thing for you. And if you definitely don't like people who are outspoken, who are going to call people out on what they think, then I don't think this is also the right episode for you. But for those who are listening and those of you excited about the prospects of this new podcast, then this is for you. And there is a subscribe button on the podcast, so if you want to hear the episodes drop into your inbox weekly, they're going to be released every Wednesday. So then just hit that subscribe button, you'll be notified and you'll be the first to hear about what bullshit that I found that week. So until then, I will see you guys in the next episode.
