You will probably have noticed that this episode is a lot shorter than the previous ones. Well, that’s because this episode is just a quick interlude to explain how the podcast is going to look in 2024.
For those of you who are tuning in for the first time – welcome!
I’m Sabrina Chevannes and I’m known as the No Bullsht Entrepreneur. I sniff out the bullsht business advice that’s shared so frequently online and I research what’s actually true and share actionable insights with you guys.
So, I did 10 episodes, where I took a trend, or a topic that’s being talked about a lot, and highlighted what bits are complete bullsh*t and which bits are useful.
I feel like some of them came across as a bit of a rant. And I know why.
I get so frustrated with the amount of bad advice circulating out there and how people get away with it. So, I end up going off on one!
This year, I’ve decided to structure the episodes a little bit differently.
I will still be sniffing out the bullsh*t, and clarifying the legitimate business advice from the absolute garbage.
However, I will also team it up with research that I have done. Each episode will include relevant learnings from different studies and books, bringing you relevant insights that are related to each piece of bullsh*t I uncover.
The idea is to provide you with a killer resource as an entrepreneur. Somewhere you can go to get some clarity on all the information you absorb online. Somewhere that helps you streamline your learning and helps you be the best version of yourself.
It may make sense to also tell you a little bit more about myself and why this podcast is important to me.
So, I started my journey in entrepreneurship all the way back in 2008, when I was still at medical school. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and just working it all out as I went along.
Somehow, I managed to grow and sell one business… and then set up the agency that I’m still running today.
But I’ve been a little fed up with the agency world for a while now… hence the reason why we’re called the No Bullsht Agency. There’s soooooo much bullsht in our industry.
There seems to be a really old-fashioned approach to the way agencies operate and they’re following models that worked back years ago, but are hardly adapting to the needs of people in 2024.
So, instead of battling against the grain for another few years, I decided to seriously pivot.
I am now launching my own entrepreneur’s members club! In fact, I launched it last week and boy was the launch incredible.
I am utterly mind-blown and grateful for the hugely positive response that this club has had already, so I’m super excited for what it will become.
It’s going to be a community of ambitious individuals who are all looking to grow personally and professionally. Since it’s application only, the entire community will be vetted, which means that only the people who are genuinely supportive and with strong morals and values will be allowed in.
The idea is to be all about QUALITY. That means our events will include speakers who are the top in their profession. Not ones you see over and over again at industry events, giving the same, prepared speeches.
We will also include immersive experiences where you get to see inside people’s businesses and cool brands, rather than just hear from them in a panel discussion.
I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a good panel – in fact, I LOVE panels. But if that’s all you do, I think it’s a bit lazy.
Also, membership organisations have a tendency to be quite lazy with what they do. They work reallllllllllly hard and getting you signed up and then they ghost you as soon as you’ve paid your money.
They promise this “community of like-minded individuals” but what does that really mean? It’s usually a hotch-potch of people who just happen to want membership. Plus, you’re left to your own devices to make connections with people you actually want to talk to.
My new community is going to be different. First of all, it’s called N0BS! Yup, you heard that right. It’s N – zero – B – S. Because we want zero BS. No Bullsh*t!
Ahhhh it’s all making sense now, right?!
So yeah… that’s what I’m up to right now and I’m going to be continually having conversations with incredible entrepreneurs to hear what pain points they’re going through and help them solve them.
Therefore, this podcast will have a lot of episodes reflecting the conversations I’m having with entrepreneurs.
The future episodes will be structured as entrepreneurial lessons.
We will start by sniffing out the bullsh*t – perhaps a common misconception in the world of entrepreneurship, or a trend that’s currently going around because some content creators are just spouting garbage.
I will then spend time backing up the real situation with evidence and support them with interesting stories.
I also love to make recommendations for books to read and interesting people to follow on the subject.
